New World Order

[Steve Myers] You may have heard about or even anticipated a New World Order. Did you know the Bible prophesies two New World Orders, one following right after the other?

Confusion and controversy are intensifying over a coming New World Order. Would it be good or bad for the world? Could the cure be worse than the problem? Now you might not realize that the Bible has something to say about the New World Order. Now in fact many world leaders have and do express their desire and hope for a better world with peaceful relations between nations. After World War I and then again after World War II, President Woodrow Wilson and English Prime Minister Winston Churchill both spoke of their desire for a New World Order. Now later on U.S. President George H. W. Bush said this in the 1991 address to Congress.

[President Bush] Until now, the world we've known has been a world divided, world of barbed wire and concrete block, conflict, cold war. And now we can see a new world coming into view, a world in which there is the very real prospect of a New World Order.

[Steve Myers] In fact, more recently, President Barack Obama made many remarks throughout his years as serving as president. Now his desire was to see a powerful international order to solve the world's problems.

President Obama: We must embrace a new era of engagement based on mutual interest and mutual respect. And our work must begin now.

> And the President outlined his vision of a new world order in which the U.S. would participate fully, one rooted on four basic principles.

[President Obama] We have to shape an international order that can meet the challenges of our generation. The international order we seek is one that can resolve the challenges of our times.

[Steve Myers] Now as you hear those words, there are some who these words strike fear in their hearts. In fact there's the New World Order conspiracy ideas that are out there. And that brings fear to many people. This conspiracy they think is rich and powerful people that get together with the banks and secret societies, and they conspire to form a government that would ultimately control the world. They're working behind the scenes, they say, right now, and they're slyly steering us in the direction of one-world government. Now here's what may surprise you. Did you know the gospel speaks of the New World Order? The Bible, in fact, details two coming world-ruling governments One that will follow right after the other.

Now to recognize the first new order that's coming, we actually have to look back in time. First, let's recognize the fact that there is a real conspiracy. That's what your Bible teaches. Now you don't want to dismiss this because the fact is that thousands of years ago the greatest of all conspiracies took root. This is one that that you don't want to take lightly. It's one that will affect your life. And it's been and it will be the most powerful plot on the planet. In fact we have it described in your Bible over in Ephesians 6:12. And it says this, "We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in high places." You see your Bible says there is a great spiritual conspiracy going on all around you. Now what should you do about it? You see backed by an evil, powerful spirit being this conspiracy wants you to fail. This spiritual conspiracy is led by Satan, the devil. Now it's not just a fantasy. It's reality. Satan is a real being who is conspiring against you, conspiring against God, and in fact conspiring against God's plan. Now it's true not all conspiracies are real.

But Satan is real. He wants the world under his control. He wants power. He wants to dominate human beings. That's his plan. That's his purpose. And the challenge isn't all of these things, it’s that initially his ideas will, well, they're not going to look evil. They're not going to look wrong. It's not going to appear to be corrupt, that may even bring temporary peace. But the fact is a New World Order will happen. Your Bible predicts it, and it's part of the gospel message.

Satan is the mastermind, the formation of this international government. In fact we can get a glimpse of that when we turn it over to 1 John 5. Notice this little bit of an insight of what's coming. It says, "We know that we are of God and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one." Do we recognize Satan's power, the devil's authority over the world?

I mean some translations say this world is under the power of the evil one, under his control, under Satan's power and his control. And yet it seems to go unnoticed today. But your Bible says Satan is the god of this age. I mean you talk about a shadow government, you see he's influencing mankind to reject anything that has to do with the true God. And he encourages man's development of his own flawed systems of government, flawed systems of business, and wrong types of education and values. And He tries to infect all parts of life and society around us. I mean think about it for a minute. Have you seen any evidence of that already? Well imagine for a moment as times get more difficult, economy begins to fail, sickness and disease, no jobs. We can't pay the rent. Food begins to become scarce. What will be the reaction? Well, we've got to have a solution. We need a solution. We need a government that will help us with the answers.

So as you think about that, does it seem that our world is ripe for a New World order? Well that's what your Bible predicts. And most people, they don't understand this. Most churches don't get it. Ministers do not understand this part of their Bible. But prophecy says it is coming, a time when people will be willing to give up their liberty, to give up freedom, to give up their rights in order to have their basic needs. And that New World Order is described right here in your Bible. If you take a look at what it says over in Revelation 13, we can begin to see what is coming. The Apostle John says, "I stood on the sand of the sea," in Revelation 13:1, "and I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having 7 heads and 10 horns, and on his horns 10 crowns and on his heads a blasphemous name." You see it's described as a beast. Why a beast? Well a beast is wild. It's dangerous.

And this prophecy is referring to that treacherous kingdom. And we know it's a kingdom. It's a government because it's talking about crowns, and rulership, and power. That's a government. And in fact this beast is not only a kingdom but it's also referring to its deceptive leader. This beast, it's also a political and military dictator. Or you could think of it as a ruler, a president, and an emperor, a ruler of the kingdom that the Bible describes as a beast. And it's interesting when you consider it. It's a reflection of Satan himself. Satan can be thought of as a beast. The Bible says he's a dragon. He's like a serpent, so much like a beast. And this system, this government, it will be big, and it will be fast, and it will be ferocious, and it will chew up and spit out any that come against it. In fact the Bible shows why it's so powerful. If we read on in verse 2 of chapter 13, it says, "The beast which I saw was like a leopard. His feet were like the feet of the bear, the mouth like the mouth of a lion." And here's where it tells us, "The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority." You see we look down to verse 4. It says, "They worshipped the dragon who gave authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, 'Who's like the beast? Who's able to make war with him?'" You see this New World Order is a part of the gospel message. We see it here as a prophecy. And it is all-encompassing. Down in verse 7 it tells us, "It was granted to him to make war against the saints, and overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship Him." And so we see this evil empire is going to try to destroy truth, try to demolish what's right, and annihilate true believers. And you can't help but think, "Well why would people of the world want to follow that? Why would they submit to that?” I mean, why would you? Well this leader is going to seem to have the solutions. I mean imagine, imagine what they're going to say. "I've got the answers," he's going to say, "I'll bring peace. I'll save your families. I'll put people back to work. I'll make food available to everyone. I will, in fact, stop the nations from warring against each other." And that's going to seem good. It's going to seem right. It's going to seem best and actually appear religious, but watch out. Watch out.

That's why you need to understand what's coming. I mean do you understand that part of the gospel message? Do you really grasp what Jesus Christ preached and what He warned about? This counterfeit system is coming. And we see the evidence of it right now. And that forge system, it's going to seem good. It's going to seem helpful. It's going to seem best. And you wonder why? Well thank God that He tells us, He tells us why it will seem that way. 2 Corinthians 11:13 gives us some insight. It reminds us very clearly, and it says, "Such are false apostles, deceitful workers transforming themselves into apostles of Christ." And then He tells us, "No wonder Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore, it's no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness whose end will be according to their works."

You see, so God tells us no wonder it's going to appear to be best. No wonder they'll say, "Wow, look at this. We're back to normal. These are the answers we've been waiting for." And it's so convincing because your Bible is telling us it's not just a New World Order that involves government alone. The real underlying factor in that unity and that power will be religion. It will be religion. This New World Order will not just be about government but it will be about a false religious system as well. In fact we read how Satan has his ministers, and he has influence on religion. And it's been that way since the beginning of mankind. And the scary part is the devil is behind most religion today. He's behind it, most Christianity today. Now you might not think that, but he's so deceitful. He can cover his tracks so well. And so he promotes false Christianity, counterfeit religions.

The fact is he's affected most Christianity today. Now when you begin to think about that, you have to ask yourself, "Has my faith been influenced by Satan the devil?" Now you might say, "Wait, wait.” Well don't be so sure. I mean do you really believe your Bible? Do you understand the Bible? Do you know the Word of God, all of it? And then, do you live by it? You see this New World Order will fuse religion and government together and it will seem to be ideal, but it's not godly. The great deceiver makes his system appear to be the solution, the best. And so this alliance of politics and religion will seem to be the ultimate solution.

But there's a catch. There is a catch. It will require submission to one common fraudulent religion. Your Bible tells us that very thing in the book of Revelation. Notice what it says in Revelation 13. In verse 13 it says, "He performs great signs so that he even makes fire come down from Heaven on the earth in the sight of men. And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs, which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast." And so now we can see humanity will buy into the forgery. They'll buy into it because well, after all there's going to be fire from Heaven. There's going to be signs. There's going to be miracles. And we know see is believing, right? So no wonder people will eagerly submit to this New World Order, this beast power. In fact maybe some things are starting to sound a little familiar. And when you begin to think about history, could this be kind of a repeat of history? I mean think about a state-sponsored church. Has that ever happened in man's history before? Absolutely. It's happened in the past. And we're getting insight to see it's going to happen in the future again.

Just look at the history of Europe. There was a time when the Bishop of Rome had such authority that he could enthrone an emperor or he could just depose the leader. It's happened before. Your Bible says, "It's going to happen again." And so if you can imagine this combined powerful, treacherous church and state system, this union between politics and religion that's coming, that's the description of this first New World Order that's on the way. And it's not that hard to imagine. I mean when we look at this, we can imagine conditions deteriorating. We've seen it here in our own time. Will conditions become so desperate and so dramatic people will yearn for the solution? They want the solution. And of course in the midst of this great turmoil, people will be distraught. They will need and want a savior. And that's when this false political leader and this false religious leader will appear on the scene. And this system, this deceitful, evil, dominating system with this deceptive religion will come on the world scene and try to stamp out the truth. And if we're honest with ourselves, we can see as our Bible says, this forgery has been in the works throughout history. And so we can't allow ourselves to fall for that deception. Of course when you think about, what does your Bible say? Well Christ warned about counterfeit religion, counterfeit Christianity over and over again, didn't he? Didn't He say, "Watch out when people preach about me"?

Matthew 24 will help you understand what Christ really preached. And when you look at history almost from the start, deceivers were out there, those that would try to influence the true Church of God. They infiltrated the New Testament church and right from the beginning tried to get it off track with false teachings and false doctrines. But God has a solution, the real solution, the solution that will bring about the final superpower, the ultimate New World Order. Now, how is that going to happen? Well the time is going to come when Jesus Christ will totally shatter human governments, human society. He will overturn that evil beast system and in fact all man-made governments. Revelation 11 is a wonderful reminder of that very fact.

God ultimately has the solution. Revelation 11:15 reminds us. It says, "The seventh angel sounded. There were loud voices in heaven saying, 'The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign for ever and ever.'" The King of Kings will come, and He will destroy that evil order. He'll overturn the disorder that that system will institute, and Christ will return to this earth as King overall. But do we realize that? Do we realize that when you read the Bible, the entire Bible points us toward that time? The ultimate world government, a good New World Order, the perfect government system, all under Jesus Christ? In fact that's such a vital part of the gospel of Jesus Christ. In fact that's what Christ taught. That's what the apostles preached. And it wasn't just about personal salvation. It was also about a coming world government that will finally bring peace, finally bring happiness and joy to the entire world. In fact the real Jesus of your Bible, He came preaching that very message of the Kingdom of God. And it wasn't a Gospel about some vague, warm feeling or about just accepting Jesus the person of Christ. It was more. It was about a coming world government that would ultimately bring genuine peace, that would bring health, that would bring happiness to the sick and confused world that we live in. Have you heard of that coming New World Order?

You see most religion today totally neglects that part of the gospel. Christ will come, and He will rule the nations. And He'll straighten out these wretched problems that we have in our society. They'll have an opportunity under the New World Order of Jesus Christ to learn God's true ways, to understand His purposes, and we can be a part of that. God wants you to be a part of that, a part of His government.

Now if we're willing to change, if we're willing to genuinely surrender ourselves to God and actually do what He commands, that amazing future awaits us. And it's coming at the return of Christ. And it's going to be a government with no corruption. Imagine that. It will be a world where disease will be replaced with health. It'll be a kingdom where hunger will be banished by abundance. And it will be a place where every individual will be able to achieve his or her full potential. And finally, eternal life will be offered to all in God's ultimate New World Order.
